The purpose of government procurement processes and laws is to obtain the best possible value for public funds to minimize risks. In this course, the participants will be able to keep in mind the governing principles of public procurement. They will also learn about the different procurement methods, and bidding processes, and determine activities that are considered and not considered as government procurement. This course seeks to provide clear, brief, and accurate information on procurement by discussing steps that need to be taken to affect such procurement in the manner prescribed by the Government Procurement Reform Act.
By the end of the module, the participants shall:
Describe the government procurement laws: then and now; and
Identify the principles of public procurement.
